Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, and even better drinks. It is on the more expensive dining

I'll start out by saying there are probably more Mexican restaurants in this area, and to stand out and have lasting power, you will need more than a fancy decor. The photos speak for themselves, but I will start with the obvious, brown wilted lettuce. I'm not sure why someone would put a handful of spoiled lettuce on not 1 but 2 plates and send it out to a customer, but that's what happened here. My wife ordered a fish taco on 1 of 3 choices of taco shell, which, after 3 attempts, they still couldn't produce her order currently. We mainly went there for the Mexican street corn which we ordered as an appetizer, but it was only after the fiasco of brown lettuce and wrong orders AND paying, we realized once we got home we never actually got the corn. I give this restaurant a very generous 3 stars, and all I can say is step your game up.

I really wanted to like this restaurant but it was just mediocre. The restaurant was clean and the waitstaff were very attentive. The salsa and chips were very good. I got the chicken fajitas and it just didn’t have much flavor-like almost none. The tortillas however tasted homemade. They were super soft and chewy just like tortillas should be. My hubby got the tamales . He said they were good but nothing special. Overall the food was okay but nothing noteworthy.

I had Ribeye Tacos. Extremely filling. I was only able to eat 2/3 tacos served. Delicious

We stopped here on our way back to Houston, Tx. The atmosphere is really nice and decorated with many colors! The food is plated nicely and had really good flavor! Since it was my first time trying this, I was not familiar with exactly how they serve their beans, it was a hassle asking for help from our server. Many young people work here so I didn’t receive assistance in a manner that included experience. After finding a hair in my beans, the manager could have handled the situation better and more kindly. In the end she did take $2.50 off the bill, however I don’t see myself returning. Good luck if you decide to try!

We had a good meal here for lunch on a Sunday. The weight was only about 10 to 15 minutes. Service was fast and friendly. Great build out and very clean. All the food was delicious very tasty.

Food is really good but I can’t rate it 5 stars because it claims to be Mexican when it is definitely closer to Tex-Mex / Ameri-Mex type food. The food is great but not authentic which is fine, but label yourselves as such. I come from Texas where places like this clearly state they are Tex-Mex restaurants instead of just saying Mexican food. I would still highly recommend this restaurant to others. I just want to be clear on expectations. Staff member tend to be friendly with a few that seem like they have no business working a job that has anything to do with customer service. The few outliers are not bad servers, they just need to realize that their job is to serve others and not expect people to tip largely just because they sat at your table. Customer service is a big deal in my book and a few of the staff members here need to learn how to be a little more friendly and helpful to the customers. As I said before, not something worth firing over, just need a little extra training in customer relations.

Welcome to Mi Tio Mexican Grill & Bar, a vibrant culinary haven nestled in the heart of Alexandria, Louisiana. With its inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, this restaurant strikes the perfect balance between comfort and excitement. You can find them at 3311 Jackson St, and they’re just a phone call away at +1 318-704-2185. This spot not only captivates patrons with its enticing decor but also aims to deliver a memorable dining experience with a menu packed full of tempting Mexican favorites.

As you step inside, you'll find an ambiance that is both lively and welcoming, perfect for family gatherings or a casual night out. Patrons have expressed admiration for the exceptional drinks offered, describing them as ‘even better’ than the food itself, which underscores the bar’s dedication to not just serving meals, but creating a full dining experience.

However, the journey isn’t without its bumps. While some customers rave about their ribeye tacos for being “extremely filling and delicious,” others have expressed dissatisfaction with specific orders, such as the fish taco fiasco. In the fast-paced world of dining, every dish deserves to shine, and it seems that Mi Tio is still refining its approach to consistency.

On a high note, the complimentary chips and salsa consistently receive praise, setting a delightful stage for the meal ahead. Although some diners found the entrée flavors lacking, they did recognize the homemade quality of the tortillas—soft, chewy creations that complement any dish they accompany.

As with any culinary destination, the experiences diverge widely. With reviews ranging from “mediocre” to “excellent,” Mi Tio Mexican Grill & Bar serves as a reminder of the nuances in dining: what one might find lackluster, another may cherish. For those who appreciate authentic Mexican cuisine, paired well with a refreshing drink in a festive setting, Mi Tio is worth a visit. However, perhaps a discerning eye should be kept on the quality of ingredients and preparation to elevate this establishment's standing in a competitive culinary scene.
